i kindof hate buying a car

i cant reveal many things that are actually happening because they are not happening to me specifically.



i went to a car dealership to buy a vehicle on saturday.
let me break down the experience:

1) the vehicle was a sport model (16k msrp) but had a sticker price of 18500
because the dealership added:
-300 window tint
-200 FLOOR MATS?!
-300 paint sealant/protectant
-delivery charges, etc.

i tell the man i will pay NO more than 16 for the car. we go inside to see if he can bring it down to regular price.

2) the salesman tells me i am unable to use my 3k voucher because my dad is cosigning my financing.
(we get up to leave, he quickly runs to "double check" which conveniently he is incorrect so i can use the voucher)

3)we sit for an hour while they check our credit histories and try to work out financing....
this is what they bring out....


with 3K as my down payment.... and the 18500 as the price (which is not what i said i would do in the first place)
they said 72 months at 379 monthly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTF.
who in their right mind would put 3k down, and pay 379 a month for the remaining 15500 dollars?

379x72 months= 27,288.00
and this is with a 3K down payment.
are you kidding>?!


i got up to leave- all while basically laughing in their faces if they think i would actually agree to that-
after sitting there for an hour they come out with the price again as 18500......
they say "oh give me a few more minutes i can fix that for you"
but considering i have already wasted an hour on that same line... i was out the door.

i hate that even have to buy a car. i would rather have a vespa.
but since a car is necessary- i have to deal with these assholes trying to fleece me.
i understand people try to make money-
but honestly that was an insult to my intelligence.
