apply directly to the forehead!

i totally have a sore throat :(

ok so this weekend was packed- but on saturday i stopped at a nissan dealership to look at the nissan versa.
my neighbor has one- and ive been eyeing it for weeks- so i finally got inside one- and immediately noticed the
tiny "vent-like" windows near the mirrors. my backstory with vent windows: my first car was a bronco II 4x4 xlt... and it got broken into while i was at a show at fitzgerald's. the bronco had vent windows near the mirrors- and the person(s) who broke in- broke the small vent window as to not raise suspicion with a broken full window- and reached inside to unlock the doors. presto- easy to steal my backpack with my high school textbooks and my letter jacket from the trunk. :((((sadface. john was there. he remembers!!!

anyway... i rightfully have an aversion to vent-sized windows- and in this case they arent even working vents- just for show. which is even more pointless. anyways- after further research- the honda fit also has these stupid tiny windows. wtf.
plus im pretty pissed at the MSRP for the automatic transmission for the honda fit.

my conclusion?--- im probably going to buy a hyundai accent.
-no vent windows!
-it comes in yellow (not bright yellow but a FUN yellow... and a lighter almost turquoise)
-it only comes in 2door which is kindof a bummer
-its CHEAP!
-warranties are better than nissan and honda
-resale value is less than honda-( but im not exactly gonna buy a new car anytime soon after this)
-the estimate MPG kicks everyone else's asses.

so what do you think of the yellow?

-i finally bought the duck measuring cups from anthropologie (image on previous post)

-ate pre-superbowl dinner at the delicious Escalante's in highland village/river oaks.
holy shit this place is amazing! i had the escalante especial- which is bacon-wrapped shrimp, beef empanada, cheese enchilada, with refried black beans, rice, and guacamole. bastian had the carne asada steak with an enchilada and rice and beans.
we also had the chile con queso blanco- which was also very good. the prices are in the 10-20 dollar range and basically everything was very very good. this is one of my new favorite restaurants. i thought the carne asada was better than churrascos' steak. im not a steak person, either and i would so get it next time if mine hadnt been so good.

-i bought a HUGE kennel for buffy- we're talking 4 times the size of buffy herself- its buffy hotel. ive been needing to buy her a new wire one- but i recently decided she needed to be kenneled at night (due to recent nighttime activites).
i stuck her dog bed inside it- and she walked right inside. i used to feel so guilty sticking her inside the plastic dog carrier that ive had for awhile- i had to pick her up and basically shove her in there. now she's already in it when i need to lock her up

-b and i went window shopping for furniture- at crate + barrell, pottery barn, and bo concept design. ho-ly-crap i found THE couch. bo concept design is basically the convergence of our two tastes in furniture. and the best part is- the couch is turquoise/gray textured fabric and b actually likes it. wtf. he hates turquoise. which means i have to buy this particular couch because well.... there wont be anything else turquoise in the apt.
this couch= seize the opportunity!!!
here's the couch color:

and if you care.... bo concept design

they let you design your own couch in store with their software and their prices are not exactly dirt cheap but not sky high either.
our couch will probably be around 1200+tax.
they have pretty cool textiles to choose from- for the couches, for throw pillows, and for rugs.
i already have an awesome throw blanket picked out (119 bucks but worth it)

-------

crazy crazy article on mcnamee's past- and clemens' character from New York magazine:

Brian McNamee is an upstanding citizen (or a man with a shady past) who was best friends with Roger Clemens (or just worked for him) and who designed a famous training regimen for the all-star pitcher (or took credit for it) and injected him with steroids (or vitamins). Is baseball’s unreliable witness actually telling the truth?

- and p.s. Morgan Ensberg and Jason Lane are New York Yankees....
Mo is fighting for a spot at first base, Lane fighting for the outfield. man i really hope morgan gets back into the swing of things (literally) and gets a spot on the 25 man roster. go mo!

-patriots lost- but i am just glad randy moss got to play in a superbowl. good for you, randy!!! youre my boy! i am not a fan of the giants- nor am i fan of either of the mannings- but its bittersweet for such an underdog to beat the team that almost went 19-0....
IM READY FOR SPRING TRAINING!!!! (ONLY TWO MORE WEEKS!)

playlist:
-reggie and the full effect- promotional copy (i literally havent listen to this in several years)
-cave in- jupiter
-suicide file- twilight
-tears for fears- mad world, head over heels
-iggy pop- the idiot
-psychedelic furs- love my way
-
stone temple pilots- big empty, interstate love song, vaseline
-
david bowie- lets dance

....big empty is my new ringtone

You should feel guilty about not doing enough for your mother who had a stroke. Count all the things your mother has done for you and still is doing and you can't be bothered to spend time with her. Of course your monther's personality has changed, she had a stroke, duh!

i dont know who you are- or why youre posting this.... on a post that has nothing to do with my mother. it makes me think its someone from my family- but regardless- i do as much as i can- even if i spent every last minute with her it the guilt wouldnt go away- not that it should matter to anyone else but me.
i am not perfect- i am never going to be able to spend the time that she deserves from me- but the last thing i should have to endure is criticism from some anonymous person on the internet who i presume does not know me.

(and if they do know me, they still dont know everything- and i invite them to let me know what they have done thats more than i have done)

You are the one disclosing every thing about your life on the Internet. By doing so and inviting comments you have to expect some disaproval.
If you don't want to endure criticsm from an anynomous person on the Internet don't post such self-serving blogs.
or don't blog on a cite that allows comments.

just because you have the ability to criticize does not mean you should. i share portions of how i am feeling to the world- and id like to think some people may appreciate it.

if you dont like it, thats fine. but please take your negativity somehwere else. perhaps i will disable anonymous posting- its just a shame that someone who might use the anonymous posting for good instead of evil- gets the chance taken away because of a jerk like you.
